Violets are amazing flowers

There is hardly found any other houseplant, which will compete with such a variety of violets, their forms and types, not to mention the color. There are violets with a rosette the diameters of which are over 50 cm and is semi-miniature - diameter 15-20 cm, tiny - less than 15 cm and micro-miniature - 5-7 cm. However, standard varieties of violet are of a rosettes diameter of 20-40 cm – they are more widely used. Native species of violet have small simple flower diameter of 2 cm. The newest varieties of flowers may be greater than 8 cm in diameter and not only be simple, but semi-double and double. Flower with five petals call simple, semi-double - with more than five small petals that resemble a bow, terry - with two full rows of petals. Not only flowers are diverse but also leaves of violets. They can be of different color, round and elongated, flat and corrugated. Unusual variegated plants on their leaves, sometimes do not contain chlorophyll, viewed the right or chaotic patterns of white, yellow, gold and pink color. Varieties of violets with a white stripe on the edge of the leaves are special grace. Very popular in recent years are trailer violets, with several branches of the stem, usually at least three, growing from a central pot and hanging around. This violet may look like an entire bed with a large number of simultaneous but revealed flowers. It blooms profusely and continuously. Members of the genus Violet found in most regions with a temperate climate, the greatest concentration of species found in North America, the Andes and Japan. Many species of endemic plants are specific to the South American Andes, a small number of species occur in subtropical Brazil, in tropical and South Africa (Cape Region) and in Australia, New Zealand, the Sandwich Islands. Violets are mostly annual or perennial herbaceous plants, shrubs occasionally with alternate, simple dissected leaves, furnished with stipules. The rapid spread of violets helps ease its breeding. It is enough to break off a healthy leaf with the stem, it is better for stems and put it in boiling water with a tablet of activated charcoal or just put in a light mixture of land, as after a while young plants- kids will appeared. So violets are reproduced in nature, when the rainy season water flows through the disrupted leaves or whole plants and transfer them to another location. Violets live well, flourish and multiply in the room. Plants require light soil. Premixed packages typically use in urban areas. They must add rippers - vermiculite and sphagnum moss. These materials absorb moisture well, provide breath ability of the soil, protect against rot and create good conditions for root growth.
